A broad yet balanced curriculum suits individual interests. We’re committed to providing all our students with the skills they can use to thrive in the modern world.
All students study: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French or Spanish, Art, Dance, Drama, Geography, History, ICT, Latin, Music, Philosophy Religion and Ethics, Physical Education and Food and Nutrition.
At GCSE all girls take English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, a Modern Foreign Language, three separate science subjects or Double Award Science (which is two GCSEs).
A further two or three GCSE subjects are also then chosen from:
Art & Design, Classical Civilisation, Computer Science, Dance, Drama, Food Preparation and Nutrition, French, Geography, History, Latin, Music, Physical Education, Philosophy Religion and Ethics, and Spanish.
We follow a ‘sport for all’ philosophy. Our curriculum gives girls opportunity to develop their physical literacy across a wide ranging spectrum of sporting activities, ranging from the traditional to the more niche. This is a well researched approach to the PE curriculum and has been proven to increase self confidence, enjoyment, and participation levels at post 16.
We also run an excellent STEM program, with opportunities to explore and develop a variety of skills and participate in many challenges. STEM is also part of our successful National Science Week and the popular STEM Family Challenge Evening always attracts large numbers.
