There is a large Open Day event in the Autumn Term and smaller tours run every week on a Wednesday throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming you.

Step 3 – Apply & Assessment
Once we have an application your daughter will be invited to a settling-in session. Settling-in sessions provide excellent opportunities for girls to get to know us and to experience daily life here.

Our main entry points are Reception and then Year 2. There are opportunities to join the other year groups, up to and including Year 6, when occasional places become available.

Step 2 – Apply
You are encouraged to book your daughter in for a taster day, where she can visit the school for a day, take part in lessons and get to know us. Email prepadmissions@brightongirls.gdst.net for more information on the next dates available.
Step 3 – Apply & Assessment
Once we have an application your daughter will be invited to a Taster Day and assessment. Taster events provide excellent opportunities for girls to get to know us and to experience daily life here. Assessments are designed to look for potential and are undertaken hand in hand with getting to know your daughter at our taster days.
Reception to Year 2 – we have teacher-led informal assessments for entry into Reception to Year 2.
Years 3 to Year 6 – we have short assessments in Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning.
Our Application Form is the first formal stage of our admissions process. In order to take part in our entrance assessments, we must have a completed Application Form.
Step 4 – Offers
Following assessments offers are then made and following the acceptance of a place we will send a Welcome Pack and an invitation to join our Welcome Day held annually at the end of the Summer Term. Girls can meet their new classmates and teachers and familiarise themselves with the school before the start of the Autumn Term.
For girls joining during the school year individual welcome programmes are put in place.

Our Year 7, 11+ entry, is our main intake to the Senior School. Set in the heart of Brighton we are very much a reflection of Brighton itself – creative, eclectic and nurturing. Our girls come from all over Brighton and Sussex as well as our Prep School.
You may also be interested in our Early Doors process for girls in Year 5. Ideal for those looking to take the pressure off Year 6 Early Doors allows application into Year 7 from Year 5.

We offer a variety of opportunities for you to do this, both formally and informally and we aim to make the whole process as simple and as stress-free as possible. We hold a number of Open Doors events throughout the year as well as Private Tours and Virtual Tasters – simply get complete the link below to arrange.
Step 2 – Apply
Our Application Form is the first formal stage of our admissions process. Girls will then be invited to our taster events throughout the year. These taster events provide excellent opportunities for girls to get to know us and to experience daily life here. In order to take part in our entrance assessments we must have a completed Application Form. If you are applying for a Bursary or Scholarship this must be indicated on your Application Form.
Step 3 – Assessment & scholarships
We have two options for entry into Year 7.
Year 6: For girls in Year 6 applying for Year 7 our assessment day takes place in the December prior to entry.
Year 5: For girls in Year 5 applying for Year 7 our Early Doors entry is available. Assessments take place in Spring Term.
Step 4 – Offers & welcome
Year 6 Applicants: Places for Year 7 are offered in January following assessments. Following acceptance of a place you will be sent a welcome pack and an invitation to our Welcome Day held in June. Parents are also invited to our Welcome Day in June and a Welcome Evening in early September when joining Year 7. All our Year 7 girls are given a buddy to help them settle in.
Year 5 Applicants: Early Doors offers will be made in April for entry into Year 7 2025 and girls invited to join our Early Doors Programme.

Discovery Day 2025 – Senior School Taster Day
Open to all current Year 5 pupils considering entry in Year 7 2026.

When you join a GDST Sixth Form you join a family of students beyond Brighton. With 23 schools and two academies GDST offers outstanding opportunities that you won’t get anywhere else. Our Sixth Form benefit from being in a small, friendly and nurturing community but are also able to tap into a dynamic national network of schools with linked sixth forms. Added to this we have the benefit of a 70,0000+ strong alumnae community, providing our girls with a hugely powerful network for lifelong support.
The admissions process for Sixth Form – Year 12 (16+) starts for many students in Year 10 with our taster activities, and for others early in Year 11 at our Sixth Form Evening or a visit. To start the admissions process simply follow these easy steps.

The very best way to decide if Brighton Girls Sixth Form is the best choice for your family is for you all to come and visit us – either virtually or in person. We offer a variety of opportunities for you to do this, both formally and informally and we aim to make the whole process as simple and as stress-free as possible. We host a Sixth Form Information Evening which gives specific information for this entry point, but information is also available at our Open Doors events throughout Autumn Term and we welcome private visits and tours.
Step 2– Apply
Our Application Form is the first formal stage of our admissions process. Students will then be invited to submit a more detailed submission.
As part of our Sixth Form intake we also have a number of scholarships and bursaries available, which you can find on our scholarships page. Please indicate your interest on the application.
Step 3 – Assessment
All candidates are asked to submit a personal statement, GCSE predicted grades and invited for interview with our teaching staff. Assessments are held in February.
Girls are also invited in to taster events where they are assigned a buddy and attend lessons so that they can experience everyday life here.
Step 4 – Offers
Conditional offers are made in December. These offers are conditional upon GCSE grades achieved and released the following August. We accept pupils with 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above. Upon acceptance of a conditional offer students are invited in to a series of Sixth Form Induction Days held at the end of our Summer Term.

Sixth Form Information Evening
You are invited to join us for a Sixth Form Information Evening. Speak to our teaching staff about A-Level options and what you should consider when choosing areas for further study.
Hear more about our Bright Futures programme, including the GDST Leadership Diploma, in collaboration with the London School of Economics, and the GDST Space Technology Diploma, in collaboration with the University of Hertfordshire.

Bright Futures
Join us for our Bright Futures taster event on 12th June 2025 where prospective Sixth Form students will experience an insight into Sixth Form life at Brighton Girls.
The timetable for the day will be confirmed nearer the time but there will be taster lessons in your preferred A level subjects, a talk from both Sussex and our US University Mentor on the process of applying to university and more information on the additional opportunities available alongside your A level studies such as the EPQ, language diplomas and the GDST Leadership and Space Technology diplomas.
We will also have talks from Alumnae on where they are today and how their experiences at Brighton Girls Sixth Form have helped shape their careers to date.
