One lucky mini maker will receive a full bursary to Salvage Sister’s After School Skills – which is a 10 week creative 3d design course! Learn how to design to scale, use powertools, choose materials and create your masterpiece from scratch!

Bursary Competition

Can you make something beautiful or useful from discarded items in your area?!

This could be from your home, recycling bin, your garden or woods near you, found items, litter, clothes or bric a brac headed to the charity shop, the contents of a neighbours skip. Or just something that no one wants anymore. Your challenge is to remake it, upcycle it & make it beautiful or useful to you!

Use things that are available to you – all medias & materials are allowed, but we’re not expecting you to use powertools or dangerous equipment (leave that to your Salvage Sister sessions!) We want to see your ideas & ingenuity, let your creativity flow & you never know where you might go!

To enter, email charis@salvagesister.co.uk with your entry.

*Please note – you must be receiving a Brighton Girls bursary to apply.

The Course

Starting this January, Salvage Sister After School Skills will teach you how to:

– Design to scale
– Safely use a range of hand & power-tools
– Choose from sustainable materials
– Make your chosen item from scratch!

Each session runs from 3:45pm – 5:30pm on a Thursday in term time for 10 weeks in total. Usually each session costs £25 with a Brighton Girls concession and the full 10 week course is £250. Each student receives a certificate on completion, they’ll also bring home their masterpiece to cherish & take pride in forever!
