At Brighton Girls, we believe in building confidence, resilience, and a love for sport, values that align perfectly with the Brighton Miles! As proud sponsors of this fantastic event, we want to help young runners feel prepared, motivated and excited for race day. Whether this is your first race or you’re looking to improve your performance, here are our top tips to make the most out of your Brighton Miles experience.

Many of our students are already developing their love for running through our Prep and Senior Running Clubs, where they build fitness, technique, and confidence while having fun with friends. Whether this is your first race or you’re looking to improve your performance, here are our top tips to make the most of your Brighton Miles experience.

  1. Set Your Own Pace

Remember, this is your race! Whether you sprint or jog, focus on running at a pace that feels comfortable for you. It’s all about enjoying the moment and feeling proud of yourself.

  1. Fuel Your Body Right

Eating well before the race is key. A balanced meal the night before plus a good breakfast (like porridge) on race morning, will keep your energy levels up.

  1. Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water throughout the day, but don’t overdo it just before you run!

  1. Warm Up & Cool Down

A good warm-up helps prevent injuries and gets your muscles ready. Join us as we’ll be hosting a warm-up on race day! After the race, don’t forget to cool down with a gentle walk and some stretching.

  1. Find Your Motivation

Whether it’s a fun playlist, running with friend or thinking about the finish line feeling, find what keeps you going! Positive thinking can boost performance and help you push through.

  1. Enjoy Every Step!

Most importantly, have fun! The Brighton Miles is about celebration, achievement and community.

We can’t wait to cheer you on, see you at the start line!
