Our School Choir took part in the important and very moving Holocaust Memorial Day event at Hove Town Hall on January 27th.

The community event was attended by the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Cllr Lizzie Deane and the Council Leader, Cllr Phelim MacCafferty, local MPs and guests.

Speakers included Holocaust survivor, Ceska Abrahams, who also joined us at a special memorial assembly in school the day before (see images below).

This year’s event covered the theme Ordinary People.  A central aim of Holocaust Memorial Day is to allow audiences to hear testimony from survivors of the Holocaust and other atrocities, in order to embrace our common humanity and to underline that we must all be vigilant against violence and oppression.

The commemoration was organised by The Brighton and Hove Holocaust Education Project and LatestTV, supported by Brighton & Hove City Council and the Brighton & Hove Jewish Representative Council.
