26th June marks National Writing Day. A time when people all over the country pick up a pen and let their creativity flow.
We encourage pupils, teachers, parents and friends of the school to take part in the national “Write Away” task – a seven minute piece about a special place. Please see the Firefly page https://bhprep.fireflycloud.net/english/national-writing-day–2019 for all their wonderful stories.
Year 5 also joined forces with Year 8 to write detective murder stories in the style of Agatha Christie. Everyone immersed themselves in the character roles to dramatise the crime scene in full creative freedom. After mapping out ideas, they worked collaboratively on a section of the same story via a Google Document.
The stories were fantastic – creative and full of suspense – and will be available on Firefly soon.
