England Netball World Cup – National
Kalea is an A-Level student who has been at Brighton Girls since Nursery. An incredibly active participant in all things sport, Kalea has been part of the Brighton Girls U19 Netball and Cricket squads, Surrey Storm U17 and U19 netball squads, then GDST Select VII Netball Squad and now the England Netball U21 squad. Kalea will next be travelling to South Africa for the Netball World Cup in August 2019. In order to prepare, Kalea has been travelling to Birmingham every other weekend to attend training camps and fitness testing. As well as team training, all players have to follow an individual program, which consists of weekly fitness and technique routines. On a typical day, has shooting practice before school, an hour’s gym session in one of her free periods, then either coaching at the Senior or Prep School, followed by club training or matches in the evening. This rigorous schedule has run alongside Kalea’s A-level studies, which she has powered through with a combination of academic determination and her passion for Netball and the England team. We’ll be following Kalea’s journey throughout the Netball World Cup in South Africa and cheering her all the way.
