Brighton & Hove High School is today celebrating another rise in top grades at GCSE with 62 % of all results at A*/A grades and a pass rate of 96% A*- C.  In the new numbered English and Maths GCSEs, a third of results were at the very top levels 8 and 9. Among many outstanding individual achievements, Almi Nerurkar’s 11 A* grades stood out and there was superb performance across a range of subjects, with over 80% of grades in Chemistry, Computing, German, Latin, Music and Physics being at A*/A.

Head, Jennifer Smith, said: “The students in this cohort have had a very challenging set of circumstances with all the curriculum changes and press speculation about GCSE outcomes. I am therefore delighted with our girls’ success – they have worked tremendously hard and it is well-deserved. Whilst we are very pleased with our headline statistics, the most important thing is that individual girls have made excellent progress during their time at the school and we are most proud of our value-added record with 85% of girls meeting or exceeding their potential grades in all subjects. Congratulations to all the girls and staff on a superb performance.”
