When students join Brighton Girls, they are placed in one of four Houses: Grey, Gurney, Lyttelton and Stanley. In the Pre-Prep and Prep, the Houses compete for House points and enjoy a whole range of inter-House competitions.
The four Houses are named after early pioneers in girls’ education. In the Senior school, the House system becomes the structure through which we deliver pastoral care. Each House comprises five tutor groups (Years 7 to 11) and each enjoys a dedicated social space. The Houses create four families within the school community, bringing a sense of belonging as well as healthy competition.
