Joining Brighton Girls I felt a sense of security and warmth and I’ve always felt really at home here. I’ve grown as an individual as well as a dancer recognising how dreams can become reality with commitment and hard work. My dream is to be a Professional Prima and maybe, one day, when my performance days are over, to teach at an elite level. Last summer I trained with Prague International Ballet, Yorkshire Ballet Seminar and The Royal Ballet School. This year I was invited to train with Lynne Charles, the Artistic Director of ENB learning 4pointe, training with Central School of Ballet and Tring Performance Art. Alongside my GCSE studies I’ve auditioned for full-time ballet study and I’ve been offered professional ballet training – a degree course in Professional Dance and MA Choreography with Central School of Ballet, and a Dance and Drama Scholarship and the Eve Pettinger Prestige Award for Tring Performance Art. My dreams to further my ballet training are becoming true, and I’ll be forever thankful to Brighton Girls for not only the Dance Scholarship and Bursary awards that enabled me to attend the school but also for their encouragement to reach for my goals. As I come to the end of Year 11, I appreciate how many opportunities there have been at Brighton Girls and how much I have benefited from the strength and support of the community here.
“Thank you to everyone who has donated to support my journey, I really wouldn’t be where I am today heading towards my goals without them. Forever thankful.”
